Eightfold AI launched TalentForge on May 12, 2026, introducing a platform that enables enterprises to build customized HR applications using Eightfold’s talent intelligence foundation. The company unveiled the technology during Cultivate 2026 in Napa, California, alongside new capabilities for AI interviewing and workforce readiness.

TalentForge is designed to move enterprises beyond fixed HR software packages by allowing them to create applications around their own workforce requirements. The platform combines Eightfold’s talent data, skills ontology, workforce graph, APIs, design system, permissions, and enterprise governance within the development environment. For organizations with specialized processes, this gives Talent Management technology a more customizable role.

The platform is positioned around the idea that enterprises should be able to build HR software that reflects their own workforce structures rather than adapting every process to a vendor’s predefined workflow. Eightfold demonstrated the approach by building a performance management application with its own backend, services, and user interface integrated with Eightfold skills data in approximately one week.

How Talent Management Technology Is Becoming More Customizable

TalentForge allows organizations to create and deploy applications within their Eightfold environment while retaining ownership of the workflow and code. Eightfold provides the underlying intelligence and enterprise architecture, including security, compliance, and governance capabilities designed for HR applications.

This model can be relevant for enterprises whose workforce processes differ across business units, industries, or organizational structures. Instead of waiting for standardized software features, organizations can use the platform to develop applications around specific requirements while connecting them to existing talent intelligence.

The launch also expands the scope of Talent Management beyond traditional recruiting, development, and employee lifecycle functions. Custom applications can potentially address specialized workforce processes while using a common intelligence layer to connect talent information across the organization.

AI Interviewing and Workforce Readiness Extend the Launch

Eightfold also introduced 360 Interview for its AI Interviewer. The capability is designed to combine functional, coding, and language evaluation into a single adaptive interview session, using Eightfold Talent Intelligence to build the interview framework around the role. The company says the system includes audit logs and score explainability within its enterprise governance framework.

Workforce Readiness was announced alongside TalentForge and focuses on measuring and improving organizational preparedness for AI adoption. Eightfold says the capability provides CHROs with visibility into AI adoption and productivity, while conversational insights can support personalized development plans through a coaching agent.

Together, the three capabilities address different parts of the workforce technology challenge. TalentForge provides a way to build customized applications, 360 Interview applies AI to assessment, and Workforce Readiness focuses on understanding and developing workforce capabilities for an AI-driven environment.

For HR leaders, the approach also introduces new requirements around governance and implementation. Custom software can provide flexibility, but organizations still need clear ownership, data controls, security practices, and human oversight when AI is involved in workforce processes.

The launch reflects Eightfold’s broader shift toward a talent intelligence model where organizations can build, deploy, and adapt workforce applications around changing business requirements. For Talent Management teams, the development points toward technology that is less dependent on predefined workflows and more capable of adapting to the structure and needs of individual enterprises.
